Game designer Shigeru Miyamoto drew inspiration for the name ‘Zelda’ from the writer F. Scott Fitzgerald’s wife. The late, great comedian Robin Williams was such a big fan of the games that he named his own daughter ‘Zelda’. ‘Link’ meanwhile, is so named because the character is the ‘link’ between the player and the game.
