In the very early days, Mario wasn’t called Mario, and his job was different too. At one point, Nintendo guru Shigeru Miyamoto wanted to call his creation ‘Mr. Video.’ When it was first released in archades, the chap we now know and love as ‘Mario’ was a carpenter called ‘Jumpman’!
