Rather like your iPhone, bees have face recognition. Perhaps even more remarkably, they also have issues with addiction. Bees can become intoxicated by certain fermented foods. When a bee who has had rather too much tries to come back to the hive, guard bees decline them entry and even on occasion attack on mass and give the drunken bees a lesson!
