The spectacular Lauscax cave paintings, southwestern France, featuring ancient depitctions of horses, bulls, stags and rhinos, was stumbled upon by a teenager said to be walking his dog in the region. It was one of the most important archaeological finds of the time, but the rush of visitors in the wake of the discovery sadly led to damage to the remarkable murals.
