Have you heard of the Cheapside Hoard? Unlike what its name might suggest, this was actually a priceless selection of jewels uncovered by lucky London workers in 1912, who were demolishing Wakefield House. Even luckier for the cultural preservation of the priceless gems, the workers pawned the hoard at the nearest shop, which just so happened to be run by the head of acquisitions for the London Museum, and you can still see the Cheapside Hoard on display there.
