Interesting fact:

Babies don’t actually shed tears until they at least three weeks old. That doesn’t stop them crying a hell of a lot the time, though. Their tear ducts aren’t functional until that point, although they can produce ‘basal tears’ which are necessary to moisten the eyes and not related to emotion.
